While our lovely monthly host 'de bblthk' is being renovated, all new editions of Quiet is the new Loud! will now temporarily take place at the Cultuurwerkplaats (Arboretumlaan 1), upstairs in the grand room, until Januari. Different place, same recipe!
Join us for a chill evening with the following two artists:
Mirran
Utrecht-based indie folk artist Mirran crafts colorful, multi-layered songs that put personal stories at the heart of his music. Through his sound, he explores themes of fear, loss, and the longing for authenticity — all wrapped in a unique blend of acoustic folk, classical touches, and dreamy pop influences. His debut album Blue In Blue offers an intimate reflection on one’s twenties: a search for realness in an increasingly disconnected world. Following performances at venues like TivoliVredenburg and Bibelot, the album marks a new chapter for Mirran.
Penny Roox
Penny Roox moves somewhere between melancholy and romance. With her dark, cinematic alt-pop, she effortlessly captures feelings of transience, love, and longing. After successful performances on 3FM and Radio 2, reaching over a million streams and touring with Popronde, she now presents music reminiscent of Tamino and Lana Del Rey — dreamy, intense, and deeply moving. Her debut EP By My Side (summer 2024) proves that Penny is an artist who doesn’t just tell her stories — she makes you feel them.

Terwijl onze geliefde maandelijkse host ‘de bblthk’ wordt verbouwd, zullen alle nieuwe edities van Quiet is the New Loud! tijdelijk plaatsvinden in de Cultuurwerkplaats (Arboretumlaan 1), boven in de grote zaal, tot en met januari. Andere plek, hetzelfde recept!

Mirran
De Utrechtse indiefolkartiest Mirran maakt kleurrijke, gelaagde songs waarin persoonlijke verhalen centraal staan. In zijn muziek verkent hij thema’s als angst, verlies en het verlangen naar authenticiteit, verpakt in een unieke mix van akoestische folk, klassieke en dromerige popinvloeden. Zijn debuutalbum Blue In Blue vormt een intieme reflectie op de twintiger jaren — een zoektocht naar echtheid in een steeds afstandelijkere wereld. Na shows in o.a. TivoliVredenburg en Bibelot luidt het album een nieuw hoofdstuk in voor Mirran.
